About Us…..

Hello, I have been a full time Carpenter for 28 years.

My earliest project, which was the catalyst for my desire to “Build”, was at the family home in Brampton. My Dad and i build a small sloped roof storage area onto the back of the garage to store the bikes and other things so there was more space in the garage to do “projects”. It was about 5 ft wide and 10 ft long. As we built it together i learned to mix concrete, cut and nail lumber together, fit shingles. When done, i had more room in the garage to build my 8 ft long wood speed boat ! I was about 13 ! My Dad was pretty handy, i learned a lot from him.

I LOVED taking Wood Shop classes in primary and secondary school, and I am grateful for the Peel School Board having well equipped shops in the 7/8 School and Secondary Schools. …..We need more of that !
It was may foundation for specializing in residential design and carpentry, and becoming a self employed Carpenter.

I have now trained 8 Apprentices over the years, and passed on my skills to them. I also enjoy sharing my suggestions with clients for their projects.
It all starts with the pencil and pad in hand at the kitchen table……

Every day is new working on jobs for clients. It is a trade you never get weary of. It is 50% “The Artist Within”, and 50% Technical Skills.
I always enjoyed sketching, painting and the aroma of fresh cut pine, drywall, curing concrete. It’s a thrill to see a structure or renovation come together for a client. Our teams have built dozens of House Additions and Structures over the years, and have supplied & Installed THOUSANDS of windows & doors !

    This program is amazing in that we track and apply updated building material lists, costs, customer changes, labour time etc.
    It enables us to have all of business management tools on any device to serve you better.

  • We keep up to date on modern building materials, tools, and methods. Especially, when it applies to new requirements under the Ontario Building Code.

  • Big Bass Carpentry is “Hands On” with a shop and cabinet building and finishing area to make your custom projects come to life.
    We are able to spray finish all cabinets and trim prior to being installed to give your project a professional final look….on site or in our shop.

  • We provide 1 year warranty on all workmanship.
    Manufactures Warranty applies to Windows, Doors, Materials.
